| WHAT: Approximately
700 guests will spend an evening supporting the 10th annual
Book Bash® fundraiser for Literacy Works, Inc. Elayne
Hettleman, Executive Director, Leadership Baltimore County,
will serve as the Honorary Event Chair. A Literacy Works
Books & Materials Fund will be developed in her name
and inaugurated at Book Bash. The
event will feature over 40 authors from various genres
including art, cooking, current events, fiction, memoir,
mystery, sociology, sports, local interest and children's.
This year's Honorary Author Chair is National Book Award
Winner, Alice McDermott. Other authors include Madison
Smartt Bell, Laura Lippman, Elizabeth Spires, Haynes
Johnson, Jean McGarry, Juliana Baggott, Connie Briscoe,
and George Collins. Readings from selected authors and
poets will take place throughout the evening program.
